Christmas tray

The best thing in miniature Christmas I can make colorful and shiny arrangements. It's so interesting to match colors and shapes. This is my first one, but I plan to make other types, too. This time I fixed all the details because everything has its own perfect place.

Gingerbread and gingerbread and...

I'm in Christmas fever and make gingerbreads in various shapes and sizes. I love the real size hungarian gingeerbreads with their delicate decoration. In Hungary the gingerbread is a very important part of the folk art and not only at Christmas but all over the year. I tried to ice my clay gingerbread with these folk patterns.

Tureen

My new project is a little scene. Not a roombox, only a preparation board. This white tureen has the lead role in this project. I had a very special method to make such things you can usually form on a potter's wheel in real size. I hold the clay with my left hand continually rotating it, and try to press it with the same effort and on the same places with the thumb and the index finger of my right hand. I don't state this method was a succes for the first time, but now it's a well functioning way to make pottery. I used my Dremel tool to carve hollow into the body of the tureen after baking.
Now I have to fill it some hot, spicy soup as my grandmother made.

Cheese cake

Just a cheesecake. So simple and still perfect. All of my family love it. And it's very very hard to make in 1:12! No glaze, no decoration, only the soft cheese cream and the crumbled crust. The same colors and absolutely different structures. My husband looked at it and asked the same for the weekend.

Not only my husband liked it. It was sold within an hour...

Chocolates

I love chocolate! Who doesn't? Sometimes I think about how simple my life would be if I hate chocolate! No more craving and no more falls and no more kilos. But I don't hate chocolate so the kilos stay.
At least these chocolates are not dangerous for me...

They are available on my Etsy shop.

From Hungary

I love to make almost everything in mini, but my sweethearts are the items of the hungarian country life. Now it's harvest time. I remember the harvests of my childhood when we started the work in the cold morning and gradually threw our thick pullovers off as the sunbeams of the indian summer and the work warmed us. Then ate the breakfast sitting on the grass at the grapevines and drank fresh water from the cup of the water can you can see on the photo below.

Yesterday there was the harvest festival in our village. The whole family was there to see the procession and the dancers in traditional dresses, to play harvest games, to meet the friends and to eat so many grapes as we can.  My daughters went to bed without ask at the end of the day. It was a great day and the weather was perfect. These images in my mind inspired me to make this little board with traditional foods and the handpainted jug with tipical patterns of Korond.

Last week I started my selling carrier on ebay. I will not leave etsy, no way! But I take a chance elsewhere, too. So this board (Harvester's breakfast) is on my ebay store. I think it's very hard to start on ebay without long positive feedback history, but every start is hard, isn't it?

Autumn - as I imagine

At last it's ready. I decorated my country porch with pumpkins and gourds and autumn leaves. I think autumn is not so  gloomy with these bright colors, is it?

Something other

I know, I should post about pumpkins and gourds, but they are still in progress...
I show you a very very old idea of various snacks, at last realized. The serving plate has a paper structure and very thin fimo layer stretched in one piece on it.

Autumn greeting

Here it's Autumn with all of its bright colors and delicious fruits. So it was evident for me to make a miniature mixing these colors and fruits. I wish I would have it in the center of my table in real size!

There are  a great amount of pumpkins and gourds on my work table waiting for paint. So I will be back soon with them.

"White Harmony"

I've been off from my blog for a few days ( or a few weeks?). But now I'm here and I brought a gift for you. The "White Harmony" scene is ready and it's just like I imagined. Everything is in white and natural colors. It was a very hard choice to choose the best flowers into the pitcher. I thought about paeonies, daisies, but the last idea was white lily, and I didn't regret my  choice. And now the photos...

Basket

If you have followed my blog for a long time you know my bogey is basket making. I experimented with a lot of materials to find the thin wire I use nowadays. But this time I met another problem. I wanted to line the basket with some white fabric to fit into the "White Harmony" scene. I tried all the white fabrics I had but everything had too robustic weave in 1:12 scale. At last I threw away the idea of using fabric, and I cut a piece of paper tissue. And it worked the best!
I don't know what to put into the basket, perhaps some old books or yarn balls with knitting needles. It's open...

Dummy is finished

Yes, its white. Not the snow type but a little bit ivory shade, and of course shabby.

Dressmaker's dummy

Today I had time only for this wood carving. This dressmaker's dummy would be the part of the "White Harmony" scene, too. On the photos you can see the steps of the birth. It will be white, of course. Or do I overdo the whites in this scene?
