This is the table for the smoky kitchen I made. There is some crazyness in making something with so much care (accurate joints, fine sanding, even painting) then coming at it with a knife to do so many scrapes and cracks as several years of use can do. But who says I'm not crazy? Perhaps the table needs more damages!
It's so nice to watch you working on a similar project than mine. Thanks for inspiration and yesyesyes - it's fun to damage the furniture to give it a rustic touch. Did you use fire for this too?

The construction and the aging are fabulous. I think the first moments after making the decision to 'do damage' are the most stressful, then it becomes kind of fun, don't you think?
ReplyDeleteLove the style of your table and it really looks like it has been used and well-loved for generations. Great craftsmanship.
ReplyDeleteI agree, we undo all the good work we have done! I love the style of table and you've made it beautifully! Gill x
ReplyDeleteBözse, ez gyönyörű!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I used only acrylic paint. I'm afraid it wouldn't be safe to play with fire on this tiny wood as it's in connection with me!
ReplyDeleteBozse, The table is so wonderful and very old looking! It will look great in your smokey kitchen roombox! You are so gifted and talented in so many area's! What type of wood did you use? It has the best patina!
ReplyDeleteI love the table and I'm crazy as you because like miniatures done in this special way... Hope someday I would be able to make such beautiful furnitures like you!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table, good job! I love how the braces on the bottom are crossed!
ReplyDeleteBozse, the table is beautiful! I am among those who think the well used look is MORE beautiful than the perfect new look. But it still has to start out perfect! And you are very good at making your furniture look perfect! I love it!
ReplyDeleteBozse, Your skills always leave amazed, even now, we know you.
ReplyDeleteThe table is beautiful and is perfect for your smoky kitchen :-)
Mini hugs, Flora
The table is absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe table is perfect! I agree that damaging furniture is kinda stressful, I still can't overcome it, hehe.
